Jasmine writes to Dr. Vie from Wales today. “Along with my teammates on the Canadian Track team I have made the trip from our training base in Los Angeles, California, to Newport, Wales, to put the finishing touches on our preparation for the London World Cup taking place Feb 16-20.  This race is a major priority for the team since it serves as the Olympic test event, and will act as a ‘dress-rehearsal’ to give us an indication of what to expect later this year.  It will also allow us to try out the brand new Olympic venue; the track has never been raced on before!

For now we are using our time in Wales to recover from the jet-lag and to fine tune our form before heading to London for the racing.  We are fortunate enough to have access to the Newport velodrome where we have been riding almost every day, and we have even braved the cold to test out the quiet Welsh countryside on some road rides.  All in all our training has been successful and we are all super excited to test ourselves against the world’s best.  The women’s team pursuit squad, of which I am a member, has been posting some very quick times and our expectations are set high as we are challenging ourselves to aim higher than we ever have before.  I am also competing in the individual pursuit, which is the same distance as the team event, but contested by individuals- again, I am nothing but excited to put everything on the line!

I am thrilled by the team’s progress as the clock is ticking down towards the Games this summer, and to see the momentum that is gripping us all and pushing us to attend to even the smallest detail to make sure that when the ceremonies begin, no stones have been left unturned!

Many thanks to the generous support that enables my teammates and I to perform at our best and be able to have a clear path towards achieving our dreams!

Cheers from the UK”

Jasmin Glaesser

We wish Jamine and the rest of our women from Dr. Vie Superfoods+ BC team Laura Brown and Gillian Carelton also on the team the very best for the upcoming World Cup in London this month. Watch my interview with Jasmine during her amazing race with Tara Whitten during the Canadian Track Nationals here in Quebec last year.

With lots of love
