Dr Vie Laura Brown Bronze Pan American Time Trial Cycling Champsionships 2011 Mexico

Guadalajara, MEX Dr. Vie’s  Canadian cyclist Laura Brown of Dr. Vie Superfoods team from Vancouver, BC won the bronze medal of the women’s road individual time trials at the 2011 Pan-American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico, capturing the third cycling medal for Canada at these Games.

Laura Brown rode two laps of the 10-kilometre circuit for a total distance of 20 kilometres in a time of 28:24.00, 19 seconds behind the gold-medal time posted by the Colombian rider Maria Luisa Calle.

Attending her first major Games and overwhelmed by the protocol in place at major Games, Brown was thrilled to have won this medal for Canada. “I just want to say Thank you to the community here. It was an honor riding here. There was people cheering for us,

In the men’s race, young sprinter Remi Pelletier-Roy of Quebec, QC placed ninth while Rob Britton
of Victoria, BC placed 12th.


The bronze medal by Brown comes the day after the two mountain bike medals won at these Games. The
cycling events will continue Monday with the track events. Canada will have a team entered in the Men’s team pursuit race.
